Help & Advice
Drone Laws, Licences and Training Requirements
Until 31 December 2020
Where Can I Fly?
Drone pilots should follow the Drone Code, or permissions granted by their PfCO/standard permission.
Do I need to register my drone in the UK?
Yes. See the Drone and Model Aircraft Registration and Education Service page for more details.
After December 31 2020 (Transitional Period)
Where Can I Fly?
There can be no uninvolved people present within the area of flight; and there can be no flight within 150m horizontally of residential, commercial, industrial, or recreational areas (A3 subcategory of Open category).
Want more freedom? Complete a GVC (General VLOS Certificate).
How Do I Get a GVC?
Sit a GVC course with Heliguy. The GVC consists of a theoretical syllabus, followed by a multiple-choice examination.
Following completion of the course, candidates are required to produce an Operations Manual embracing the applicable Pre-Defined Risk Assessments (PDRA) and/or Standard Scenarios (STS).and will undergo a practical flight assessment with a flight examiner. Following completion, candidates will receive a recommendation for the issue of the GVC and can apply to operate under standard permissions. The GVC course is currently being run online through Heliguy Blackbox.
Do I need to register my drone?
Yes. See the Drone and Model Aircraft Registration and Education Service page for more details.
What Happens If I Have a PfCO?
Holders of a standard permission valid beyond December 31 2020 can operate under the terms of the permission, until their renewal date. Then apply to fly under an Operational Authorisation (replacing the PfCO).
From January 2023 (End of Transitional Period)
The rules will change for DJI aircraft in their current form. Updated information released nearer the time.
Full Description
DJI M600 Pro - The Industrial Hexacopter
The DJI M600 Pro is the new industrial hexacopter from DJI.
The key features of this powerful aerial platform include pre-installed arms and antennas, modular design to make upgrades / modifications easy, improved flight time over the standard M600, the A3 pro flight controller, the Lightbridge 2 HD transmission system, support for 6 intelligent batteries and an improved battery management system.
The M600 Pro is compatible with the entire range of Zenmuse cameras and gimbals. It's ideal for professional cinematographers, aerial photography and industrial applications.

A3 Pro Flight Controller Included
The M600 pro comes with an A3 Pro Flight Controller.
This gives the industrial hexacopter triple redundancy along with algorithms that will help the pilot get accurate diagnostic information in real time.
The dampening system means you'll get absolutely precise control of your M600 pro while it's in the air.
The A3 Pro is also compatible with D-RTK GNSS to help reduce the impact of magnetic interference and give the pilot centimeter-level accuracy.
Convenience Defined
The M600 Pro comes in a fully built state, meaning the heavy lift UAV can be in the air in a matter of minutes.
The M600 airframe is easy to transport and extremely light, with quick release landing gear and foldable arms.
The Pro also has new GNSS module positions under the upper cover to increase reliability.
A carry case is also included with the M600 pro, making transport a breeze.

Industry Leading Aerial Imaging Performance
The Matrice 600 Pro is designed for industrial use, for inspections, cinematography and more.
The maximum payload is 6kg - meaning a Ronin-MX gimbal and a range of professional cameras will be suitable for this setup.
Support for all the current Zenmuse cameras, including the new Zenmuse Z30, means that the M600 Pro is incredibly versatile when it comes to camera configuration.
Not only that - but the motors have an active cooling system along with a new dustproof design - meaning that you can always rely on your Matrice to battle through the conditions for a long period of time.
M600 Pro Flight Time
The M600 Pro features a similar impressive flight time to that of the original Matrice 600 (32 mins without payload, 18 mins with payload).
The new Pro model also has a 5km long range transmission - meaning it'll handle almost any industrial scenario.
The battery management system allows the UAV to effectively turn all it's batteries on/off with a single touch.
In addition, the 6 batteries supported by the M600 Pro give you peace of mind. If a single battery were to fail during flight, there are still 5 more in reserve to get the Matrice home before any accidents can happen.

Full HD Transmission with Lightbridge 2
The DJI Lightbridge 2 transmission system is included with the M600 Pro.
The Lightbridge 2 is designed to meet the demands of a professional broadcasting crew.
The live HD feed offers a high frame rate to ensure you can always capture the perfect image.
There is also support for HDMI output at 1080p/60fps.
Other Important Features of the Matrice 600 Pro
Compatible with D-RTK GNSS (not included) - The dual antennas on the D-RTK GNSS gives you absolute precision.
Open SDK Development - The M600 Pro is compatible with the DJI Onboard SDK and Mobile SDK. This means that third party software can be created to tailor this UAV to specific applications.
Full DJI Go and Assistant 2 Support - DJI's GO app can be used to control the M600 pro as you would any other DJI drone. This is an amazing level of control, available to everyone with a mobile device.
