DJI Phantom 4 Pro V2.0

The DJI Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 is the latest iteration in DJI’s iconic Phantom Series. The Phantom 4 V2.0 features an OcuSync HD transmission system for dual frequency band switching. A powerful 1-inch Exmor R CMOS sensor captures high-quality images at 20 MP and video in up to 4K at 60 FPS.

OcuSync Transmission System

The DJI Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 features a new dual-band OcuSync transmission system, automatically switching between 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz. The controller identifies which frequency has the lowest interference and switch to provide the clearest transmission. 

The new OcuSync also allows wireless connectivity with the DJI Goggles and Goggles RE and the Phantom 4 Pro V2.0. Removing the restrictions of wires and allowing a reliable connection. 

DJI Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 Remote Controller

The Phantom 4 Pro+ V2.0 remote controller is available with a built-in 5.5” 1080p screen. The ultra-bright screen has a brightness of 1000 cd/m2 increasing usability in direct sunlight. The screen’s brightness is twice as bright as the majority of smartphones and tablets.

The remote controller features a microSD card slot, speaker and microphone and an HDMI port. The remote controller has a battery life of up to five hours. 

Propulsion System

The DJI Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 features an all-new quieter propulsion system. Newly designed 9455S propellers and FOC ESC drivers result in a 4dB noise reduction. The sinusoidal current is also improved, increasing the Phantom 4 Pro V2.0’s stability in flight.

Phantom 4 Pro V2 FAQs

Are accessories from the Phantom 4 Pro compatible with the Phantom 4 Pro V2.0?

Yes – accessories will be compatible with the drones; however, remote controllers will not be compatible due to the different transmission systems.

What are the main differences between the Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 and the Phantom 4 Pro?

The Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 feature an OcuSync transmission system rather than Lightbridge and a new propulsion system for up to a 60% noise reduction and more stable flight.

Can third-party apps be downloaded on the remote controller?

Yes – a range of apps can be downloaded including social media apps.

What is the resolution/format of photos captured while recording footage?

Images are captured as JPEG in the same resolution as the recording.

Are the Phantom 4 pro batteries compatible with the V2?

Yes. All the accessories are compatible except the remote.

Drone pilots should follow the Drone Code, or permissions granted by their PfCO/standard permission.

After December 31 2020 (Transitional Period)

Where Can I Fly?

There can be no uninvolved people present within the area of flight; and there can be no flight within 150m horizontally of residential, commercial, industrial, or recreational areas (A3 subcategory of Open category).

Want more freedom? Complete an A2 Certificate of Competency (A2 CofC) and you can fly as close as 50m horizontally of uninvolved people (A2 subcategory).

There is no limitation on proximity to buildings. But this is not a free for all, because the prescribed separation distances from uninvolved people still apply to persons that are occupants of any vehicle, vessel or structure.

How Do I Get an A2 CofC?

Sit an A2 CofC with a Recognised Assessment Entity, such as Heliguy. The A2 CofC course is currently being run online through Heliguy Blackbox.

What Happens If I Have a PfCO?

Holders of a standard permission valid beyond December 31 2020 can operate under the terms of the permission, until their renewal date. Then apply to fly under an Operational Authorisation (replacing the PfCO).
