Here at Heliguy, we specialise in providing professional aerial systems to the discerning client - if you need a RED Epic in the air, we can oblige.

For a lot of our potential customers keen to learn the ropes however; experience is not something you are blessed with and a budget of around £1k seems sensible. But does this mean you have to settle for a system that will soon become a limiting factor once you are ready to jump up to the next level?

Of course it doesn't!  Our most popular DJI Phantom 2 FPV system (for use with the GoPro cameras) comes in at £999 and the Vision 2 Plus sneaks in at £890. If you are willing to put the leg work in, find the right locations and chase the best light, you are guaranteed to have a professional showreel in no time. If you make the effort, you will succeed and it's all thanks to the Phantom. We know it's hard for you photographers to settle for anything but the most expensive kit, but a Phantom really will be your best friend if you are new to the industry.

Just check out what local hobbyist Loday has managed to achieve on his ventures around the UK. He proves that enthusiasm, application and an eye for the right shot are your most important assets. In the age of digital Photography, learning how to process your photos and videos goes a long way too.

If you already foresee the requirement for a larger platform such as the DJI S1000 or S900 in the near future, you may begrudge spending a grand on a Phantom when this money could be put towards the big one, this makes sense, right? Well, not really. All of our 'heavy lift' clients already have a DJI Phantom at their disposal. It's small enough to be kept in the back of the car at all times and will become your reccie rig for scoping out new jobs and planning more challenging flights. Indoor work may also call for a rig that can fly through doorways and the like - you may find your trusty Phantom is used for 25% of your work even once you have a larger rig in your inventory.

So there you have it. The Phantom is all things to all men (and women). As a newbie, it will introduce you to the world of aerial photography and cinematography and completely knock your socks off in the process. If you are planning on becoming a seasoned pro, it will certainly accompany you like a trusty old friend ready to spring into action.
