FocusTrack is an incredible mode you can use with the DJI Mavic Air 2 to create amazing content.
There are three FocusTrack flight modes we will be learning in this quick Heliguy™ tutorial.
This includes Spotlight 2.0, ActiveTrack 3.0 and Point of Interest (POI) 3.0.
Before enabling FocusTrack be sure you are in a clear and open area for safe flying.
- Spotlight 2.0.
Begin by waving your arms and the camera will automatically begin framing your movements.
Alternatively, you can tap on or frame the subject using the DJI Fly App. The camera will begin tracking and framing the movements of your subject.
Start recording by clicking the Shutter Release trigger on the remote controller or click the Shutter Release button on the DJI Fly App.
During Spotlight 2.0 mode you can start shooting photos or videos whilst flying. You can operate the control sticks to adjust the distance between the Mavic Air 2 and the subject.
- ActiveTrack 3.0.
ActiveTrack 3.0 has two modes including Trace and Parallel. Let's take a look at Trace first.
Select the Trace option on-screen during ActiveTrack 3.0 mode.
ActiveTrack will now track the subject at a consistent distance. If the aircraft loses sight of the subject it will hover in place ready for you to regain control. The DJI Mavic Air 2 will automatically keep track of those objects around it and avoid them.
After you have your subject ready and selected, try out Parallel mode within ActiveTrack 3.0. The DJI Mavic Air 2 will track the subject at a constant speed. Ensure that both sides of the aircraft are free from any obstructions.
- POI 3.0.
Start by hovering at an appropriate altitude, then simply tap on or frame the subject.
Click the POI icon found near the button of the screen.
Choose the flight location and speed you want to aircraft to be moving in.
Tap the Shutter Release button to begin POI.
When using the Mavic Air 2's intelligent flights modes, you should keep an eye on your drone at all times to ensure the flight is going smoothly.
